Description
J.K. Rowling, born Joanne Rowling, is a British author best known for the Harry Potter series, which has sold over 600 million copies worldwide. She conceived the idea for the series during a delayed train journey in 1990 and began writing while living on public assistance in Edinburgh. Rowling has also written the Cormoran Strike crime fiction series under the pen name Robert Galbraith and her adult novel The Casual Vacancy.
