रवींद्र ठाकूर लिखित ‘दाही दिशा’ ही कादंबरी अरविंद नावाच्या एका वंचित युवकाची प्रतिकूल परिस्थितीशी झगडत स्वत:च्या पायावर उभारण्याच्या संघर्षाची कथा आहे. महाराष्ट्रातील खानदेश आणि मराठवाडा ही या कादंबरीची भौगोलिक पार्श्वभूमी आहे. प्राथमिक शिक्षकाचा पोर अरविंद. वडिलांची नोकरी व कुटुंब म्हणजे विंचवाचं बिर्‍हाड. अरविंद परिस्थितीने अकाली प्रौढ होतो नि काही बनण्याच्या ध्यासाने पडेल ते काम करत राहतो. अरविंद नाही नाही त्या गाढवांचे पाय धरत स्वत:चं जग निर्माण करत प्राध्यापक होतो. एका क्षणी लेखकाचीच आत्मकथात्मक कादंबरी वाटावी अशी अनेक साम्यस्थळे इथे आढळतात. अहिराणी भाषा खानदेश जिवंत करते तर नामांतर चळवळ मराठवाडा. वाचनीय तरी अंतर्मुख करणारी ही कादंबरी प्रत्येक वंचित तरुण-तरुणींना त्यांचीच वाटेल!
